an aI am so excited to once again to be do another challenge. My last was in December of last year. Not because I did not want to but I spent from December 2016 to March of 2017 between nursing home and hospital. I wont get into to much except it took me a long time to get back to what I love best soap making.
This is the prep before I even made the soap itself. Doing this took me about 3 hours. I first made my soap dough and continued on to make my unicorn horns, anyways I could not seem to make the spirals like most so in the 3rd picture below you will see the rack that I rolled my little carrots on to get the spiral design, and then the horns painted and the unicorns painted using the soap dough as well. I think I may call this abstract Unicorn Dreams. You can see I'm not the best at getting this web page together so bare with me. After are the painted unicorns and the colors I decided to go with.

I wanted to show everyone my temps as I started. My lye and oils are about 10 degrees apart so all is good in unicorn and soaping land. The oils used are as follows, coconut, palm, sunflower seed and mineral oils also used were shea butter. My colors were from Steph Micas and more, yelling yellow neon, vivid violet neon and bodacious blue neon. Mad oil micas neon orange and neon green. Since I had no bright neon pink in stock I used a more subdued pink from Maple street soap supplies Honeysuckle.
Once I mixed up my colors they looked great and I went on to doing a tilted tiger stripe, I felt that it would give me more of that rainbow type look I wanted. Before I forget The fragrance that I used was pear berry with a little ylang, ylang. It smells of unicorn dreams.. I ended up having to work faster than intended, my oils were thickening up more than I liked.
I must say although this challenge took me lots of time I am thrilled by what was achieved and the limits I pushed myself to. Enjoy all the pictures of my finished soap below.
